The record-breaking former basketball player will be speaking at this pioneering conference which will feature some of the leading Muslim women in sport who inform and display innovative practices across the sports industry.

Innovators in Sport will aim to educate and inspire through keynote presentations, panels, thought leadership and insight that will cover the areas of Sport for Development, Leadership, Business and Research, and Athlete Advocacy. Attendees can expect to hear from innovators across these areas who can provide the latest insights and opinions and their wider contributions to the sports industry. This is about sports industry contributors who happen to be Muslim women. The focus will be on a call to action to purposefully pursue and embrace diversity as a critical enhancer to best practice in sport.

Conference organizer and MWSN Executive Committee member, Indira Kaljo, commented, “This will be a conference like no other. It will bring together women from across the world who are changemakers and who, through their passion and dedication, have made the industry a better place than when they entered it. Their stories must be heard and their experiences must be shared so that we may learn and act to create an industry that is truly for all.”

Keynote speaker Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir commented, “I’m honored to be the keynote speaker at the innovators in sport summit. In the past few years, women have been at the forefront of change, on and off the playing fields; and this summit will show exactly why.”
