Naasira Mohammed

Communications Manager, West Indies Women's Cricket Team, Trinidad

Naasira is a Muslim, Caribbean, Trinbagonian and an expert cricket journalist. She is currently the Media Officer of the West Indies Women’s Cricket Team and for seven months in 2018, held the same position on the West Indies Men’s Cricket Team most West Indies Age Group Teams (U-19, U-17, U-15 boys and girls). She was the first woman to ever hold that position on the men’s team in its 92-year history. Mohammed enjoys “being a part of West Indies Cricket history and getting to tell the stories of the players and Cricket West Indies.” Mohammed noted that she would encourage people to pursue her occupation especially women “because there are less women than men as Media Officers in international cricket. She was listed as a Cricket Expert on the Women’s Media Center List, a foundation by Jane Fonda, this database includes the likes of other powerful women such as Christiane Amanpour and Katie Couric.
