Ibtihaj is the first hijab-wearing Muslim woman to have competed for the US and won a bronze in the team event at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. She is a US State Department Sports Ambassador, Nike athlete and international speaker who, in 2017, had a Barbie doll published in her image. Ibtihaj is also an entrepreneur in the fashion industry.
