Session 3: Athlete Activism – One on One with Dr Haifa Tlili and Leïla Kellou

Dr Tlili will be speaking about the Hijabeuses Campaign to abrogate the FFF Hijab Ban along with the creation of Les Hijabeuses union and their organizing efforts in leading social change both offline and online. The Hijab Ban Campaign is a collective work between fieldwork mobilization, action research and human rights support that she has been mobilizing in France with Les Hijabeuses. In Paris, June 2019, at the Diversity House Fare Network decided to re-open the FFF Hijab Ban folder in a panel of specialists and it became clear the FFF was intent on discriminating against hijabi Muslim women by not accepting them into official matches.
