Aprar Hassan is on the USA national karate team. She is a very dedicated young woman that has faced discrimination in a world championship in Scotland because of her hijab. She overcame it and still competed despite the discrimination and actions taken against her. She’s won national championships in karate for two consecutive years. Hassan is also a trailblazer: the first Muslim girl to compete on the Amateur Athletic Union’s USA National Karate Team.
